Our Giving Motto: Do More

In the last few years, I have come to understand the power of little steps in big directions. Since 2008, part of my focus has been on increasing my personal and business involvement in good causes. The rewards have been numerous. From seeing immediate tangible benefits to achieving a better understanding of myself, giving has been the vehicle through which I have grown. So our new giving motto only makes sense. If it's such a good thing, obviously we should do more.

Here's some of what we have been up to:

2009

• November 2009 - Darryl Parker is attending the fundraising event for The Foundation for Tomorrow.
• November 2009 - The Matthews Historical Foundation - Darryl Parker and Parker Web pledge financial support in the reconstruction of the Clark-Massey house for the new history museum.
• November 2009 - The Amazon Initiative - Darryl Parker joins board of directors for the Amazon Initiative and their mission to create clean water systems in Peru.
• October 2009 - Charlotte Drug Free Coalition - Parker Web joins the marketing committee of the Charlotte Drug Free Coalition.
• September 2009 - The Matthews Help Center - in conjunction with the Matthews Civitan, Parker Web begins delivering Friendship Trays (Meals-On-Wheels) on Tuesdays.
• September 2009 - Labor Day Weekend - Matthews Alive has another successful event.
• August 2009 - iMatthews.com contributes to the Kay Plyler Park Brick Campaign
• August 2009 - Matthews Civitan Club is chartered and Darryl Parker accepts role on Board of Directors.
• July 2009 - Parker Web begins providing website maintenance services pro bono for The Foundation for Tomorrow and supporting their efforts to educate AIDS orphans in Tanzania Africa.
• June 2009 - Darryl Parker and Parker Web lend their support in creating a new chapter of a Civitans International service club in the Town of Matthews.
• February 2009 - iMatthews.com celebrates one year as a growing community resource
• January 2009, Darryl Parker named to Board of Directors for Matthews Alive, the annual 4-day Labor Day Weekend fundraising event for local non-profits.
