LOCAL FIRM'S APPROACH TO WEB MARKETING GARNERS RECOGNITION FROM NORTH CAROLINA LAWYERS WEEKLY
MATTHEWS, NC (April 13, 2007) - In the fast-paced, ever-changing realm of the World Wide Web, the process of creating a website can often seem challenging, confusing and impersonal to a small business owner. However, one local Matthews web marketing firm is making strides toward changing this perception, and their efforts have been rewarded by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in their second annual “Best Law Firm Web Site” competition.
Myerslegal.com, a site developed by Parker Web Marketing for the Charlotte-based Myers Law Firm, was selected by Lawyers Weekly contest judge Scott Reston as the top website in the small firm category.
Reston, himself a seasoned web developer, said “I like how simple yet attractive this site is. No wading through the same clip-art icons prevalent on many competitors’ sites. It’s easy to find the necessary information.”
Matthew Myers, an associate at Myers Law Firm, concurs with Reston’s comments about their site: "That’s what we like about it... It gives good information without being overly flashy. We went to Parker Web wanting a sleek, professional-looking website, which is.exactly what we got. We were very concerned about the look of the site and the images that would be used, and I am glad we had them on our side to guide us through the process."
The more than 100 law firm websites submitted for consideration in the magazine's second annual competition were evaluated based on a number of criteria, including design style and quality, content, ease of use and functionality.
It was originality of design and user-friendly functionality that set myerslegal.com apart from the other entries in its category. As Lawyers Weekly judge Steven Keith noted, the top sites in the competition “embrace that it’s about the end-user” and provide "brief but cogent information about how you're going to help the site visitor.”
Parker Web Marketing President Darryl Parker, whose firm currently works closely with over 100 local small businesses, agrees with Keith's assessment of the importance of web design that engages the end-user. He believes myerslegal.com exemplifies his firm's approach to design as a function of credibility and performance: “This site is a good example of a lead generation website. We have refined our processes to address the design, content, programming, maintenance and marketing requirements of an effective Internet marketing campaign, all of which can be accomplished within a reasonable budget for a small business like the Myers Law Firm.”
Matthew Myers believes that the qualities of the site that garnered recognition from Lawyers Weekly will also be key to helping his firm attract new clientele: “Being in the legal profession, we want the website to be a tool to drive business. This is the first website we've had that we can put to work for us.”
