Community Outreach

We call it "Marketing with a Purpose" and we have purposely chosen to focus our marketing efforts in the local community and build our presence through knowledge building activities:

We teach classes at our local community college, CPCC, and work with local high schools and community centers to present and offer our expertise.
We founded and sponsor iMatthews.com where we are helping to build community online.
We deliver a regular iMatthews podcast that highlights local members of our community.
We deliver a regular Small Business Web Talk Podcast which addresses some of the hot topics online using local experts.
We offer an internship program that focuses on the intern learning the web services business with our specialized approach.
We donate websites to local non-profit organizations needing a more effective online presence.
We regularly write articles that appear in local publications.

Meet Parker Web

Darryl Parker began building web sites in 1996 while a Computer Science major at UNC-Charlotte. He has had over a decade of real world experience in web technology deployment and business marketing. Since 1998, he has co-owned and helped build from the ground up three multi-million dollar companies through a combination of his marketing and programming skills. Today he heads up an award-winning web design firm in Matthews, NC, and is focused on helping his clients achieve their business goals. He has also taken a leadership role in helping define new standards for the Web Development industry and advocates a "practice" approach similar to other professional service organizations. Prior to the Internet, Darryl served in the North Carolina Army National Guard as a Blackhawk Helicopter repairer and was a full-time administrative member of the NC Anti-Narcotic Task Force. After the military, he worked in management positions in the food and retail industries. When not working, Darryl is actively involved in the Matthews community and enjoys writing and gardening. He lives just outside of Matthews with his wife and daughter.

Don Grothoff began his web career in 1995, after 14 years in sales and marketing in the corporate world. That same year he started his own web design firm based in Charlotte, NC. Don’s company designed, built, and marketed hundreds of websites for small to medium sized businesses throughout the US. Having both a degree and background in marketing Don’s company took his customers to new levels using their website as the catalyst.

In July 2007 Don merged his company with Parker Web Marketing based in Matthews, NC. Don felt Parker Web Marketing, having similar longevity, experience and customer base, was an excellent match. Don now works in the capacity of VP of Sales, overseeing daily activity of sales for Parker Web Marketing.

Don has resided in Charlotte since 1985 has been happily married since 1994 and has two children.

Sean Pfost has a background in Art/Graphic Design, Engineering, and a lot of food service jobs so he is fully equipped to help clients solve whatever they throw at him. Sean holds an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Advertising & Graphic Design from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. Sean has designed and coded over 200 websites personally and currently manages the Support Team for the entire Parker Web client base.

Sean says "I attended CPCC after deciding to not finish with the Mechanical Engineering Program at UNCC. I found that while I did like the structure and problem solving of engineering, drawing sprockets and the like did not utilize enough of my artistic drive...so "back to the drawing board" I went."

Andrew Schulz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a concentration in graphic design. With over 4 years of experience in web development, Andrew takes pride in never settling for less than the best web design he can muster. In April 2007, Andrew was recognized for the design of MyersLegal.com which was named the #1 Small Law Firm Website by NC Lawyers Weekly Magazine.

Andrew says he "enjoys the web design industry because it constantly evolves – this provides an environment in which I am frequently challenged and engaged. I see design simply as a gift of communicating solutions for everyday problems. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing a client get excited about the shared ideas coming together as an elegant, clearly organized web layout that acutely meets their objectives."

Irene Matthews moved to Matthews, NC two years ago from southern New Jersey. She arrived with over 20 years experience in bookkeeping and office administration. Irene assists in the day to day operations of the company to allow Darryl more time to work on business development.
